TCF 3rd Anniversary Photos
There were many nice memories.
We welcome you to relive some interesting moments with us. Here we go . . .
This was before the start of the program.
What is everyone doing? Let us have a closer look.
Photographer: "What are you doing?"
Boy: "They ask me to draw on the paper and write my name."
Everyone, no matter children or adult was asked to draw something on any of the three sheet of papers (i.e. our guest book)provided and then sign/write their name.
Want to see what everyone drew? Just scroll down :)

Lovely isn't it? :)
The theme of our anniversary is "Growing in Fellowship"
Our program started with a very interesting skit . . . about a growing plant !!!
Watching plants grow has never been more interesting.
Look at the captive audience.
The story starts with a gardener who planted a seed.
The gardener took care of the plant.
He watered it.
The sun (hidden from view)
also shone on the growing seed.
What happen to the seed?
It grew and grew and grew (as demostrated by the children here).
There are big storms with strong wind (represented here by the bits of paper floating down).
Did the plant survive?
Yes, it did. And it bore fruits.
What is the moral of the story?
(This part to be continued . . . )
That's end of the skit.
There was a slide show after the skit but I have no photos of that. Sorrie
But we have the photo of the children's special presentation.
They sang "Blest be the Tie" and recited whole of Psalm 23. GOOD JOB !!!
Then our pastor Rev Dennis Kwok gave an exhortation, encouraging us to grow in fellowship.
The message is timely both to the children and also adults.
I have a surprise door gift for the children.
This is Mr Grass Head. ("Mr Wheat Grass Head" to be exact)
Give it plenty of water and some sunlight. That should keep him very happy.
Just like taking care of Mr Grass Head needs much effort, growing in fellowship with God & man also needs our constant attention.
Let us continue to grow, both in our fellowship and as a fellowship.
Blessed third Birthday to TCF!
We got three young helpers to help us blow out the candles. One-two-three-blow!
Thank God for a wonderful 3rd anniversary.
May the Lord use our fellowship to reach out to more children.
More photos to come . . . of the nice refreshments and the group photo so bookmark this page :)

Thank God for TCF 3rd Anniversary!

VBS 2009 Report
A total of 110 children (from mainly 6 to 12 years old) attended the 3 days VBS. About half of those children were first time attendees. All the children are spilt into three levels for all their messages and main activities (i.e. games, craft and gospel sharing time). This made the program more age-appropriate and focused and so that the children from each age group can be better ministered to although this also meant that more manpower is needed.
As a small church, our manpower is limited, thus to have sufficient teachers and helpers for the VBS every year is indeed a testimony of God’s grace. Thank God for the over 40 teachers and helpers who served in one way or another, including some who were not from our church but willingly came to help when approached. To maximize our manpower and spread out the load more evenly, this time we requested each teachers to take on one more role. They were asked to be either games ic, art and craft ic or video show ic of their group. With the aim to help all teachers and helpers to prepare themselves for the VBS and for their added responsibilities, we produced a handbook for the first time, on top of having the helpers’ meeting. While we did encountered some problems as we implement the changes, but all in all, the VBS went quite smoothly. And I believe that with the experience gained, VBS 2010 would even be better.
We thank God that during the three day program, a handful of children came to accept the Lord Jesus as their Saviour. Please pray for the spiritual growth of these children and also for the salvation of those children who has still yet to believe. In a few months time, we will be starting to plan for VBS 2010 (Nov 23 to 25). Would you consider about serving? Please pray. God Bless.
Junior Choir 2009
Thank God for also sending Michelle, Eddison and Ethan to join us along the way. In all, our Junior Choir 2009 was consist of 15 children (ranging from 4 to 12 years old) plus Jean and Kai Leong, my faithful co-labourers.
Our main objectives in Junior Choir are still to train the children to serve God with their voices and be a blessing to the congregation through our monthly presentations. To help our children to deepen in their appreciation of the traditional hymns, we made it a point to select more hymns for Junior Choir to learn and present. One such hymn which the Junior Choir presented was Fanny Crosby’s “To God be the Glory.”
Thank God for the opportunity for the children to sing together with the Church choir during the July 26th’s Sunday Worship Service where they sang “Make me a stranger.” It was truly a good learning experience for the children. Last but not least, thank God for a good closure to 2009 where the children presented “Christmas isn’t Christmas till it happens in your heart” during the Worship Service on 27 December. As we enter into 2010, we look forward to another year of growth and ministry. May the Lord continue to help us.
Truth Children's Fellowship 2009
Our weekly program includes singspiration, message, counsel time, refreshment and either games or library.
The two TCF outings (30th May & 7th Nov) was one of the highlights of the year. The first outing was to West Coast Park and the second outing was to Marina Barrage. Thank God for such outings where TCF children, parents and teachers could spend time together singing praises to God, learning His Word and drawing closer to one another through exciting games, fun activities and warm fellowship over the sumptuous refreshments.
This year, we have done away with the year-end award presentation. Instead, we now reward the children in the form of coupons, at the end of each term, according to their progress as recorded in their individual TCF booklet. Thus far, this reward/recording system which was started in term 3 has been somewhat effective in encouraging the children to memorize their weekly memory verse, read Christian literature during library time, exhibit good behavior or finish a certain special assigned project. And we trust that as the children work through these spiritual activities each week, the Word of God would be planted in their hearts and then go on to work in their lives.
As we ‘march’ into our third year in 2010, we continue to remind ourselves the objectives of TCF which is to evangelize boys and girls with the pure gospel of Jesus Christ and to establish them in the Word of God for Christian living. Please pray for us that the Lord will continue to grant us His wisdom and the strength to press in this important ministry to the children. If you have non-Christian relatives, neighbours and friends who have children from ages 4 to 12, please pray about inviting them to TCF. May God’s Name be glorified.

Junior Sunday School Report 2009
The objectives of our Junior Sunday school are to lead the children:
1. to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ (Receive)
2. to obey God and be a good testimony (Walk)
3. to a vibrant spiritual life (Rooted & Built up)
4. to a clear understanding of the basic Christian doctrines and teachings in the Word of God (Stablished and abounding)
Thank God for His many blessings and His continual leading of the Junior Sunday School through 2009. Thank God especially for each of the department superintendents and assistant superintendents who co-laboured with me namely Eric (Young Teens), Alice & Ben (Junior), Eileen & I (Primary), Tammy & Mary (Pre-school).
Just like the year before, we continued to have ‘Open Sunday’ on every 5th Sunday of the month and combined department programs on Easter and Christmas.
Thank God for the opportunities for the Junior Sunday School children show their appreciation to their parents. We had children from the Pre-school & Primary Depts presenting a song to all the mothers on Mother’s day (10 May) while those from the Junior & Young Teens Depts recited a poem for all the fathers on Father’s day (21 Jun).
On 30 Aug, it was the church’s turn to show appreciation to the teachers & helpers serving in our Church’s teaching ministry. It was a blessed day where teachers and helpers gathered for a time of sharing and prayer which was followed by a warm fellowship over a Hi-Tea buffet.
In order to introduce parents/church members to the Junior Sunday school and to involve parents/church members as supporters the Junior Sunday school, we organized a ‘Junior Sunday School day’ on 21 June for the very first time. Thank God that on the same day, the Children Ministry’s blog (www.truthkids.blogspot.com) was also launched. Through this new platform, we hope that we can better engage the children and support the teachers and the parents as they teach the children. With the same underlying desire of supporting the parents and teachers, we organized a forum on the theme of “Shepherding a Child’s heart” for them during the June family Bible camp. Thank God for many valuable lessons learnt through the message and the Q & A session.
One of the last major events of the year was our Church’s bi-annual Missions month in October. As the adults have their program, we also lined up a series of missions related programs for the children every Sunday in October. Thank God for the opportunities to exposure the children to Missions and Evangelism. May they learn to be missions minded from even from such a tender young age.
Thank God for all that He has enabled us to accomplished but there are still a lot more that could have been done. Please pray that God will give us more fervor and zeal to serve Him in 2010.

Junior Dept Report 2009
Thank God for another year of service!
In 2009, the Junior Department continued studying the Westminster Shorter Catechism. The department comprised of 7 teachers and 7 students. In pairs, teachers were rotated to teach each lesson. The Sunday school teachers continued to plan each lesson using, “Teaching Minds, Training Hearts” by Starr Meade, as a guide. As most of the class consisted of students from Christian homes, we decided to focus on the application of God’s Word in their lives. The teachers agreed that most of the children have head knowledge but were lacking in the application of that knowledge in their lives. Therefore more time was given to the study and application of each question.
The prayer requests of the children were complied weekly and distributed to help the children pray for one another. An outing to East Coast Park was organized during the school holidays to help the teachers and children get to know one another better. The parents of the children were also invited.
As we continue to teach the children God’s Word, we pray that they will continue to remember the lessons they have learnt and apply them in their lives. May God also help the teachers to faithfully prepare and teach their lessons, rightly dividing the Word of Truth. Amen.
Pre-school Dept Report 2009
Our objectives for the year 2009 were to enable the children to know Christ personally in their lives as well as to show them the importance of the Word of God. As such, we have continued with our Verse Memorization program on each Lord’s Day. It is with much joy to see the children learning the verses conscientiously and reciting it each week. Much thanks is given to the parents who have been greatly involved in this program as well. It is also with much prayer and hope that all these which have been learnt would not just be head-knowledge in the children, but that it may be lived out in their lives, for it is encouraged that these children may not just be hearers, but doers of His Word. We pray that the children would continue to desire the learning of God’s Word and that they would grow to be more like Him!
Proverbs 22:6
‘Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.’
Young Teens Dept Report 2009
Continue with the objectives of our Junior Sunday School based on Colossians 2:6-7, the Young Teens teachers are mindful of the responsibility that God has entrusted us to impart not only knowledge but more importantly to build up the spiritual life of our students.
We continue to pray to God for wisdom to minister to the needs of the students. Also pray for the students that they will pay attention in class and apply what they have learnt so that they may grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
Primary Dept Report 2009
Our Primary department’s objectives:
1. To foster a spirit of worshipping God in the children
2. To help the children to live out their Christian life
3. To foster a more personal & closer relationship with the children & their family
Thank God for the 8 children and 9 teachers in our dept in 2009. Thru the weekly Sunday School lessons and the many special events within the Junior Sunday School, both children and teachers had opportunities to learn, to grow and to serve.
Our department was in charged of putting together the Combined Dept Easter program on April 12. We put up a puppet show depicting the events surrounding the resurrection of Christ. It was not easy getting everything ready but children and teachers who were involved enjoyed putting up this puppet show from start to end. Judging from the very captivated audience, they enjoyed it too.
Gradually during the year, our teachers have been moving away from doing worksheets during every Sunday School lesson. The purpose of this change is to give the teachers freedom to choose how they want to review their lessons. Instead of worksheets, teachers can now choose to prepare review questions, games or art & craft or whatever appropriate ways they feel that can reinforce their lesson and make it more interesting.
Thank God for helping us to improve the children’s bible reading program for too. Now the children, not just read the selected verse daily but that at the end of each week of reading, they would do a fun activity to test their understanding of what they read. Since we introduced this, the children seem more motivate to read the Bible. In the end, we hope that the children will not only make it their habit to read the Bible daily but to grow to enjoy learning directly from God’s Word. May the Lord help us.
