Junior Choir 2009

Thank God for blessing the Junior Choir for another year. As always, some members come and some members go. But 2009 was especially memorable as we saw the graduation of one of our senior member in the Junior Choir, namely Pang Kai Jun. We had a graduation ceremony where the whole choir said our goodbyes to him. Although it is not a compulsory thing for the graduating member to join the Church Choir, but we highly encouraged graduates to continue to serve the Lord in other areas. We are glad for Kai Jun that in the end he chose to join the Church Choir and that he is still serving there now.

Thank God for also sending Michelle, Eddison and Ethan to join us along the way. In all, our Junior Choir 2009 was consist of 15 children (ranging from 4 to 12 years old) plus Jean and Kai Leong, my faithful co-labourers.

Our main objectives in Junior Choir are still to train the children to serve God with their voices and be a blessing to the congregation through our monthly presentations. To help our children to deepen in their appreciation of the traditional hymns, we made it a point to select more hymns for Junior Choir to learn and present. One such hymn which the Junior Choir presented was Fanny Crosby’s “To God be the Glory.”

Thank God for the opportunity for the children to sing together with the Church choir during the July 26th’s Sunday Worship Service where they sang “Make me a stranger.” It was truly a good learning experience for the children. Last but not least, thank God for a good closure to 2009 where the children presented “Christmas isn’t Christmas till it happens in your heart” during the Worship Service on 27 December. As we enter into 2010, we look forward to another year of growth and ministry. May the Lord continue to help us.
