Truth Children's Fellowship 2023

 

The objectives of the TCF are:

1) to evangelize boys and girls with the pure gospel of Jesus Christ and

2) to establish them in the Word of God for Christian living.

Thank God for His faithfulness to TCF since we started in 2007. In 2023, TCF celebrated its 16^th Anniversary on 25 February 2023. The theme was “We are Ambassadors for Christ.” Rev Dennis gave the exhortation from 2 Corinthians 5:20: “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ,

as though God did beseech you by us:  we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.” In commemoration of TCF 16^th Anniversary, the TCF children presented a song item “The King’s Business” and a photo slide show about how God blessed TCF in 2022 was shown.

Since Singapore will lower its DORSCON level from Yellow to Green from 13 February 2023, all our meetings are back to normal. Our weekly program includes singspiration, message, counsel time and refreshment. Each week we have about 18 children and 6 teachers. The only reminders that we been through a terrible pandemic was the few children who still donned masks during the meetings. We continued to have quarterly quizzes and gift exchanges although there were no plans to bring back regular games and library time yet.

Thank God for the faithful service of all the speakers, teachers and helpers. The children heard 31 messages under the following four themes in 2023 -  "The Seven Cs of History" (Term 1), "The Christian Soldier" (Term 2), "Parables of Jesus" (Term 3) and "Lessons from Proverbs" (Term 4).

Truth Children's Fellowship 2021

The Truth Children’s Fellowship (TCF) is a ministry that reach out to children from age four to twelve.

The objectives of the TCF are:
1.            To evangelize boys and girls with the pure gospel of Jesus Christ.
2.            To establish them in the Word of God for Christian living.

Thank God for enabling TCF to meet uninterrupted throughout 2021. As Covid-19 Pandemic rages on, we did have to continue to make adjustments to our program but as much as possible, when the government rules allowed for it, we would meet physically in church and then provide Zoom to those children who needed it. We started the year with about 13 children and about 4 to 5 teachers regularly at each TCF meeting. Praise God that in spite of the pandemic, we ended the year with about 18 children regularly attending TCF.

TCF celebrated its 14^th Anniversary on 27 February with over 30 attendees. Rev Dennis Kwok spoke on “Praise Ye the LORD” (Ps 117). We also watch a photo slide show of the TCF Key events in 2020. Everyone who came received a painted rock each with the words “Praise Ye the LORD” as door gifts.  These were paper weights hand painted by the TCF children. While we missed the close fellowship over refreshment as we had in the past but we are still thankful to God that we could still meet physically to remember God’s goodness to TCF even in the times of the pandemic.

Due to the pandemic, bi-weekly library, bi-weekly games and the twice-yearly outings continued to be on hold in 2021. Physical meetings were also not possible all the time. Some of our meetings had to be moved on to Zoom in May, July, Aug and Oct because the government tightened their rules. Both our Missions Program (7 Aug) and Children’s Day Program (1 Oct) had to be moved on to Zoom as well. Although meeting on Zoom does limit our interaction with the children but thank God for this means to minister to the children.       

By the grace of God, TCF still meet every Saturday, 3.30 to 5 pm (except on School holidays and public holidays) in church. Please continue to pray for our ministry. Do also invite the children of your unbelieving relatives and friends to come to TCF and hear the good news. Invitations to TCF can be found on the display table every Lord’s Day.

Truth Children's Fellowship 2016

Objectives of the Truth Children’s Fellowship (TCF):

1. To evangelize boys and girls with the pure gospel of Jesus Christ.

2. To establish them in the Word of God for Christian living.

The TCF is a fellowship group for children from age four to twelve. The year 2016 saw a regular average attendance of nineteen children and nine teachers. 75% of the children who attend regularly are children of our church members, with the other 25% from non-Christian families or from other churches. These children usually need transport to and from TCF. Thank God for a few church members who have been faithfully providing transport.

 
Since 2015, we have been having two concurrent messages (one for the older children and one for the younger). This continued through 2016. The messages were “The Seven C’s of History" (Term 1), "The Ten Commandments" (Term 2), "New Testament Survey" (Term 3) and "Jesus' Teachings and Miracles from the Gospel of Matthew" (Term 4). Besides weekly messages, we also had fortnightly games sessions alternating with library time, and quarterly quiz and gift exchange. Thank God for every opportunity to minister to the children. Please continue to pray for our ministry.

 
Preparation for TCF 9th Anniversary celebration started many weeks in advance. We roped in the TCF children to make the door gifts. The anniversary program on 27th February 2016 included a message by Pastor Dennis on the theme "All Things Work Together for Good," a song presentation of “Romans 8:28” by the children and a slide show. As we watched the slide show, we realised we had so much to thank and praise God for. God has made all things work together for good and seen TCF through the past years. As a testimony of God’s goodness, the TCF children also presented the “Romans 8:28” song during worship service the following day.

 
2016 was another busy year for TCF, with special activities such as Outing to the Children Little Museum (28th May), Missions Special Program (13th Aug), Children’s Day Special Program (8^th Oct) and a combined TCF/VBS outing (below) to Bukit Batok Nature Park (26th Nov).

We meet every Saturday (except on School holidays and public holidays), from 3.30 to 5 pm. Invitations can be found on the display table every Lord’s Day and on the TCF noticeboard.

Truth Children's Fellowship 2013

Thank God for seeing TCF through its 6^th year. It has always been TCF’s objective to evangelize boys and girls with the pure gospel of Jesus Christ and to establish them in the Word of God for Christian living. During this year, the children learnt precious lessons from God’s Word under four themes, namely "The Fruit of the Spirit" (Term 1), "The Lord’s Prayer" (Term 2), "King David" (Term 3) and "Prayers of OT Bible Characters" (Term 4). 

TCF meets every Saturday (except on School holidays and public holidays). The average attendance was about 16 children and 10 teachers. Besides the main message, we also have assembly, singspiration, offering, message, small group counsel time, library (first and third Saturdays only) games (second, fourth and fifth Saturdays only) and refreshments each week. Then at the end of each quarter, we would have a time of quiz and gift exchange.

On 23 February 2013, many children, teachers, parents and guest gathered to celebrate TCF’s 6^th Anniversary. Our theme was "Faith." It was part of our series of the Fruit of the Spirit. Rev Dennis Kwok spoke to us that day, encouraging us to grow in faith and to keep faithful. For special items, our TCF children sang the “Fruit of the Spirit” song while Eld Chew and family put up an interesting puppet show on the “Parable of the Sower.” Thank God for a blessed anniversary celebration.

TCF’s objectives are to:

1) evangelise boys and girls with the pure gospel of Jesus Christ, and

2) establish them in the Word of God for Christian living.

Thank God for seeing TCF through another year. We are thankful to God for our 5^th Anniversary which we celebrated on 25 February 2012 (Sat). Our theme for the year was “God, our Provider.” Indeed TCF has no lack for God has been our Provider from day one. We thank God for the many children, parents, teachers and guests who came to rejoice with us. He also provided our pastor, Rev Dennis Kwok, to be our speaker on that day.

There were two special items that day. The first was a PowerPoint presentation which testified of how God has been TCF’s Provider. The second special item was a song presentation by the TCF children. They sang the TCF theme song and the hymn “Great is Thy Faithfulness,” which they presented again to the whole church during the Sunday Worship Service the following day, 26 February.

1.    26 May: Outing to Japanese Garden

2.    23 June: TCF Teachers’ and Helpers’ Meeting

3.    29 September: Children’s Day special program

4.    12 October: A special program where TCF children prepared for VBS

5.    24 November: Combined TCF and VBS outing to Kent Ridge Park and a museum called Reflections of Bukit Chandu

Thank God for providing us with many good speakers throughout the year. They taught us from the Word of God under four themes: “People who followed Jesus” (Term 1), “Character Studies from Daniel and Nehemiah” (Term 2), “Lessons from the Divided Kingdom” (Term 3) and “The Christian Solider” (Term 4). 

Thank God for every opportunity to minister to the children and for all the teachers and helpers who faithfully served each week. Our weekly programme consisted of assembly, singspiration, offering, message, and small group counsel time (where teachers reinforce the message as they guide children through a worksheet and memory verse). On every first and third Saturdays, the children had library time, while every second, fourth and fifth Saturdays was games time. At the end of every meeting, there were refreshments and a time of fellowship.

The theme of our anniversary is "Growing in Fellowship"

Our program started with a very interesting skit . . . about a growing plant !!!

Watching plants grow has never been more interesting.

Look at the captive audience.

The story starts with a gardener who planted a seed.

The gardener took care of the plant.

He watered it.

The sun (hidden from view)
also shone on the growing seed.

What happen to the seed?

It grew and grew and grew (as demostrated by the children here).

But all is not always smooth.

There are big storms with strong wind (represented here by the bits of paper floating down).

Did the plant survive?

Yes, it did. And it bore fruits.

They sang "Blest be the Tie" and recited whole of Psalm 23. GOOD JOB !!!

Then our pastor Rev Dennis Kwok gave an exhortation, encouraging us to grow in fellowship.

The message is timely both to the children and also adults.

I have a surprise door gift for the children.

This is Mr Grass Head. ("Mr Wheat Grass Head" to be exact)

Give it plenty of water and some sunlight. That should keep him very happy.

Just like taking care of Mr Grass Head needs much effort, growing in fellowship with God & man also needs our constant attention.

Let us continue to grow, both in our fellowship and as a fellowship.

Who are we?
TCF stands for Truth Children's Fellowship, the Saturday Children's ministry of Truth BP Church.

We are committed and geared towards meeting the spiritual, physical, mental and emotional needs and development of your children. It is our desire that they will receive the firm foundation of the Christian faith that will prepare them for greater challenges in the society as they grow up.

Why we exist?
1) To Evangelize Boys and Girls with the Pure Gospel of Jesus Christ.
2) To Establish Them in the Word of God for Christian Living.

Who can join us?
We welcome all children from ages 4 to 12.

When and where do me meet?
We meet every Saturday in Room 03-05 except during public and school holidays.

Truth Children's Fellowship 2009

Thank God seeing TCF through its 2nd year. We celebrated our 2nd Anniversary on 21 Feb 2009. Through the message “God made me” and the skit, we are reminded of God as our wonderful Creator and Sustainer. Then through the powerpoint, we briefly look back on how God has blessed us over the past two years. What a day of thanksgiving!

Our weekly program includes singspiration, message, counsel time, refreshment and either games or library.

This year, we covered another 4 different series of messages namely “God is Great . . . I accept God's Way”, “God is Caring and He wants me to be kind”, “People who Followed Jesus” and “Character Studies from Daniel & Nehemiah.” Thank God for the spiritual feeding which we received from the teaching of His Word, for the faithful service of all the speakers, teachers, helpers and also not forgetting the TCF committee, which include Dn Winston, Soh Han, Tina, Emerson, Eric and Eileen this year.

The two TCF outings (30th May & 7th Nov) was one of the highlights of the year. The first outing was to West Coast Park and the second outing was to Marina Barrage. Thank God for such outings where TCF children, parents and teachers could spend time together singing praises to God, learning His Word and drawing closer to one another through exciting games, fun activities and warm fellowship over the sumptuous refreshments.

This year, we have done away with the year-end award presentation. Instead, we now reward the children in the form of coupons, at the end of each term, according to their progress as recorded in their individual TCF booklet. Thus far, this reward/recording system which was started in term 3 has been somewhat effective in encouraging the children to memorize their weekly memory verse, read Christian literature during library time, exhibit good behavior or finish a certain special assigned project. And we trust that as the children work through these spiritual activities each week, the Word of God would be planted in their hearts and then go on to work in their lives.

As we ‘march’ into our third year in 2010, we continue to remind ourselves the objectives of TCF which is to evangelize boys and girls with the pure gospel of Jesus Christ and to establish them in the Word of God for Christian living. Please pray for us that the Lord will continue to grant us His wisdom and the strength to press in this important ministry to the children. If you have non-Christian relatives, neighbours and friends who have children from ages 4 to 12, please pray about inviting them to TCF. May God’s Name be glorified.
